IoT Product Design,
From Concept to Manufacturing

From your first sketch to manufacturing 1,000+ units.
Complete product design for IoT innovators, industrial design, mechanical engineering, and electronics working together from day one, built to be manufactured at scale.

Our Services

  • Industrial & Casing Design Spinnov

    Industrial & Casing Design

We design product enclosures that balance aesthetics, ergonomics, and manufacturability, from initial concept sketches and CMF (colour, material, finish) decisions through to production-ready 3D CAD models. We design for injection moulding, extrusion, and sheet metal fabrication, with DFM built into every iteration.

  • Mechanical Design SPINNOV

    Mechanical Design

We engineer the mechanical architecture of your product, structural analysis, tolerance stacking, assembly design, and mechanism development. Whether it's a precision-fit enclosure for a medical device or a ruggedized housing for an outdoor IoT sensor, we design for real-world performance and production efficiency.

  • Design Engineering SPINNOV

    Design Engineering

We bridge the gap between concept and reality, translating early-stage ideas into technically validated designs. We run feasibility studies, identify risks in the design early, and ensure that your industrial design intent survives contact with manufacturing constraints, cost targets, and regulatory requirements.

  • Product Rendering & CMF SPINNOV

    Product Rendering & CMF

We produce photorealistic product renderings and CMF (colour, material, finish) presentations that communicate your design intent to stakeholders, investors, and manufacturing partners, before a single prototype is built. Our visualisations are built directly from the 3D CAD, ensuring accuracy at every stage.

  • Prototyping & Iteration SPINNOV

    Prototyping & Iteration

We build physical prototypes to validate form, fit, and function at every stage of the design process, using SLA, FDM, and SLS 3D printing for early concepts, and CNC machining for functional prototypes closer to production intent. We run two prototype iterations as standard before moving to zero series.

  • Design for Manufacture (DFM) SPINNOV

    Design for Manufacture (DFM)

We prepare your product for production, optimising designs for injection moulding, tolerances, assembly efficiency, and cost reduction. We produce complete manufacturing documentation including 3D CAD files, technical drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions ready for your manufacturing partner.

Our complete product design process

  • We appoint the project team, define the design brief, and map all requirements and constraints. User research, competitive benchmarking, and technical feasibility assessments are completed in this phase, producing a clear specification that guides every decision that follows.

  • We translate your requirements into an initial working concept, typically a simplified, non-production-representative model that validates the core idea and identifies any fundamental technical risks before significant investment in detailed design.

  • We develop two iterations of working prototypes that progressively close the gap between concept and production-ready product. Industrial design, mechanical design, electronics, and embedded software come together here, tested, refined, and validated against your specification at each iteration.

  • We test continuously throughout the project and run two formal test phases, one after each prototype iteration. Every test is conducted against a documented test plan, and results feed directly back into the next design iteration.

  • We produce a small initial run using production-intent tooling and processes. The zero series is extensively tested and checked, this is your final validation gate before committing to full-scale production.

  • We finalise all manufacturing documentation, 3D CAD files, technical drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions, and quality control criteria, and support the handover to your manufacturing partner for volume production.

What our clients say about us across industries

Your Questions, Answered

  • We provide end-to-end product design services including industrial and casing design, mechanical design, design engineering, CMF development, product rendering, prototyping, and full manufacturing preparation. We work across IoT devices, medical devices, consumer products, and industrial equipment.

  • Our process runs from discovery and requirements definition through proof of concept, two prototype iterations, zero series production, and manufacturing preparation. At each stage, deliverables are reviewed against the agreed specification, giving you clear visibility and control throughout the project.

  • Yes. We deliver fully detailed 3D CAD models, 2D technical drawings, tolerance annotations, and manufacturing documentation as standard deliverables. Files are provided in formats compatible with your manufacturing partner's requirements.

  • Timeline depends significantly on product complexity. A straightforward IoT enclosure project might take 10–16 weeks from discovery to manufacturing preparation. A complex multi-discipline product, integrating electronics, software, and mechanical systems, typically runs 6–12 months. We provide a detailed phased timeline after our initial discovery session, and we stick to it.

  • Yes. We have experience designing products for regulated industries including medical devices, where industrial design decisions have direct implications for IEC 60601 compliance, biocompatibility requirements, and IP ratings. We factor regulatory constraints into the design from day one rather than treating them as a late-stage audit.
